About Us

Scrum On, located in Seabrook New Hampshire, was founded in 2018 by Chris Belknap, a licensed Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) from Scrum.org. Chris Belknap is one of the 300 worldwide PSTs, the first and only PST in the entire state of New Hampshire, and one of the 45 licensed to teach the Professional Scrum Master I course in the United States. He is also one of the 30 PSTs licensed to teach the Professional Scrum Master II, an advanced Scrum Master course. Chris has worked with Scrum and Agile for over 12 years, and in the software industry for over two decades. He has been part of some large Agile transformations since 2008, including companies such as Liberty Mutual, Fidelity Investments and Unum Group. View Chris' public Scrum.org Professional Scrum Trainer profile for more information. Chris is also an instructor for the University of New Hampshire, in UNH's Professional Development & Training Program.

Scrum On is rich in experience, as we bring two decades of Scrum, Agile transformation, and traditional project management experience, having worked in the trenches with hundreds of Scrum, Kanban and Extreme Programming (XP) teams. Before you choose a Scrum trainer or coach, find out what type of experience they have. When was the last time they were a Scrum Master, if ever? We are amazed that many Agile coaches and Scrum trainers have no real world Scrum Master or Product Development experience. Be sure to check my LinkedIn profile.

Scrum On is Domestic Limited Liability Company (LLC), registered with the state of New Hampshire, and member in good standing. Download Scrum On LLCs certificate of good standing with the state of New Hampshire.

SEE WHAT MY STUDENTS SAY

01.  Experience Makes All the Difference

As a member of the Scrum.org Partner Training Network (PTN), our training is provided by a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) licensed by Scrum.org, the Home of Scrum where Scrum was created and still maintained. We are licensed by Scrum.org to provide Professional Scrum Foundations and Professional Scrum Master courses, allowing your employees to earn the industry recognized PSM I and PSM II certifications.

PSTs are considered experts in Scrum and have extensive experience applying, leading, teaching, and coaching it. They have been servant-leaders at an organizational level. PSTs are active in local agile and software development communities, as well as the broader global agile and Scrum movements.

All PSTs use the same highly-tuned and standardized Scrum.org courseware. Trainers bring their own style and experience to their courses, but using consistent materials ensures that all PSTs are delivering the same high-quality content to each and every student regardless of which PST teaches the course and where it is taught.

02. Work With a Proven Industry Expert

PSTs are a select group of Scrum experts who go through an extensive set of peer reviews, testing, training, and interviews prior to being accepted as a PST. Each individual PST must be certified and licensed to teach Scrum.org training. All trainers do more than teach, they spend time on Scrum Teams so that they bring experience to their teaching and understand how to deal with situations in the real-world.

Scrum On has worked with Agile teams since 2008, and we bring extensive hands on Scrum Master and Leadership experience from companies such as Fidelity Investments, Unum, and Liberty Mutual.

03. Scaling Scrum  Requires Deep Knowledge

If you have 3 or more teams working on the same product, teams may start to find it challenging to manage dependencies and integrate each team's work. We can help your organization and program scale, leveraging our experience with scaling patterns and practices.  As a certified Scaled Agile Framework (SPC) Program Consultant, we are licensed to teach most SAFe certification courses and workshops.

If you don't have a need for SAFe or have a small program, typically 3 to 9 teams, we are also certified in Scaled Professional Scrum, known as Nexus, and can help you.

04. Sustain Your Return On Investment

Ken Schwaber, co-creator of Scrum has said "Scrum takes two days to learn, a lifetime to master".  Be sure to follow up your training with an experienced Agile coach.  As an IC Agile certified team coach and facilitator, we have worked with and coached hundreds of  Scrum teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners and leaders at companies such as Liberty Mutual, Fidelity Investments and Unum.

05. Transform to a Modern Way of Working

Having spent the last four years assisting Liberty Mutual with their Agile Transformation, we will leverage our vast experience and knowledge to help your organization move traditional project managers and waterfall projects into an innovative and modern way of working which supports knowledge workers.
